new owners of their new addition as happy as can be.
I came to know the Boerboel from a friend of my Husbands. He owned a male Boeroel
named Hercules. Never in my life had I seen such a dog. I told my husband I have to have
one of those dogs. As always he rolled his eyes at me and said No. Well I went home and
started to read as much as I could about them. I finally had talked my husband into letting me
call a few breeders. I went through at least four breeders before I found Melinda Proffer. As
I got to know her I found out a lot about the boerboel and the SABT that I had not known.
She told me when she had a litter that she would sell me a breeding Female. So as I waited I
grew impatient and found another breeder who had a pair for sale. I really just wanted a
puppy, not a pair. After long talks with my husband and Melinda Proffer I realized I needed to
wait. I am glad to say I did and it seemed like forever.
But My first dog is the best dog i have ever owned and now that she has had her first litter
it makes the wait for her all that better. I just want people to know our goal is not to make
money off these dogs. After all we have gone through for our first litter it really is because
we love our dogs! I never thought I could love a dog as much as I love my Sy'ria. When she
gave birth last year we got to, what we thought was the last pup. Wrong! Sy'ria had a pup
stuck inside of her and we almost lost her. I can tell you it was like watching my own child on
that table.
So when people ask why we do this I tell them its so we can share a part of our dog with
others by breeding a top quality pup. Not like some breeders who do this for the money.
